AmyLea Murphy is a highly skilled attorney with experience in both the public and private sectors.  AmyLea’s practice has focused on litigation and arbitration matters at the state and federal level, as well as providing assistance on regulatory matters, internal management policies, contract work and basic counseling.  Before joining Landmark Intellectual Property Law, PLLC, AmyLea most recently practiced as a commercial litigation associate with Hunton & Williams, LLP.  Prior to that, AmyLea served as a staff attorney with the Office of the General Counsel for the D.C. Office of Administrative Hearings and clerked for the Honorable D. Warren Donohue in the Montgomery County Circuit Court in Maryland.

AmyLea’s experience and expertise includes:

• Conducting research, analyzing and crafting legal arguments, and drafting the necessary pleadings in federal and state litigation and arbitration matters
• Consulting with clients about pre-litigation strategies, settlement options and litigation tactics in order to achieve the best possible result for the client
• Managing large paper and electronic document productions and discovery disputes
• Handling regulatory disputes before federal and state administrative agencies
• Negotiating various agreements between government agencies and interested stakeholders
• Creating in-house policies to address a wide range of issues, including procurement practices, Freedom of Information Act requests, Americans with Disabilities requirements and employment issues
• Drafting agreements and reviewing existing contracts in a variety of substantive areas

AmyLea earned her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, in government and economics at Clark University and obtained her law degree at the Catholic University, Columbus School of Law, cum laude.  While in law school, AmyLea was a member and editor for Law Review.  She is admitted to practice in Maryland, Virginia and D.C.
